Woodward Turf Farms
Fescue, Bermuda, and Zoysia — each variety selected for mid-Atlantic climates and grown on our farm. Find the right fit for your project below.

Fescue is the most versatile cool-season grass we grow — and the most popular choice for mid-Atlantic lawns. Its deep root system delivers exceptional drought tolerance, while its adaptability to sun and shade makes it a reliable fit for nearly any property. Whether you're sodding a full yard or patching a problem area, Fescue is a proven performer.
Ideal For
Residential lawns, shaded areas, slopes, high-traffic yards, commercial properties
Latitude 36 is a top-tier hybrid Bermuda developed specifically for the transition zone — making it an ideal fit for the mid-Atlantic's mix of hot summers and cold winters. It establishes quickly, tolerates heavy traffic, and maintains a dense, fine-textured turf that holds up under pressure. A top choice for athletic fields, golf courses, and upscale residential projects.
Ideal For
Athletic fields, golf courses, high-end residential, commercial landscapes, transition zone climates

North Bridge is engineered for cold hardiness — one of the most winter-tolerant Bermuda varieties available. It pushes the boundary of where Bermuda can thrive, making it a strong option for mid-Atlantic properties that want the durability and heat tolerance of Bermuda without sacrificing winter survival. Excellent color retention and a tight, uniform growth habit.
Ideal For
Transition zone lawns, sports fields, golf roughs, properties needing Bermuda with cold hardiness
Meyer Zoysia has been a trusted choice for mid-Atlantic lawns for decades. It forms a thick, carpet-like turf that crowds out weeds naturally and holds its color well into fall. Slower to establish than Bermuda but extremely durable once rooted, Meyer is a long-term investment in a lawn that requires less mowing, less water, and less upkeep over time.
Ideal For
Residential lawns, low-maintenance landscapes, weed suppression, properties wanting a thick carpet-like turf
Zenith Zoysia offers a finer blade texture than Meyer with excellent heat and drought tolerance. It establishes well from sod and develops into a dense, attractive lawn with a refined appearance. Zenith handles the mid-Atlantic summer heat with ease and requires significantly less mowing than cool-season grasses during peak summer months.
Ideal For
Upscale residential, low-mow landscapes, hot and dry sites, properties wanting a refined fine-bladed look
